Children’s Dental Care Program

We have created an environment where families can learn about dental health and have fun doing so. Our focus is to teach children proper oral hygiene by their participation in our program.  The skills they take home should offer them a lifetime of good dental health.

Upon arrival to our office, your child will be greeted and then escorted to our child-friendly dental treatment room.  We encourage parents to accompany their children to our treatment room and to participate in the appointment.  If your child uses a power toothbrush, please bring it along so that we can incorporate it into their appointment.

We also have an entertainment room equipped with a DVD player, chalkboard, books and coloring books to keep your children busy while siblings or parents have their dental appointment(s).

What your child learns during their visit:

1. Dental nutrition
2. What is gum disease?  What causes it?
3. What is tooth decay?  How does it happen?
4. The benefits of fluoride.
5. Proper brushing and flossing technique (Disclosing solution to stain plaque and an intra-oral camera and monitor to view stained areas)
6. Brushing and flossing can be fun.

During the appointment, one of our doctors will perform an oral examination.  Dental x-rays may be recommended at this time.  The growth and development of your child’s teeth and jaws will be discussed.

Overall we want your child to have fun while they learn and for parents to continue with this positive experience at home.
